| BAGO, MYANMAR |
I found out from local guy here that Bago is spelled ‘peh kou’. It is chief city of Bago Division in Myanmar. Flight Officer say it is 80km from Yangon, capital of Myanmar. I dare not ask why we land here. Is it because it is out of the way? Because we do not want authorities to sniff us?
Bago has many tidal creeks. Like the tiny rivers back in Murmansk. I was wrong in thinking secret cargo is going by land to Asia regions. Maybe now it will be transported by sea on big steamer ship? But cargo hold is still quiet. Popular attractions in Bago include the Snake Monastery (where a former priest died and reincarnated himself as 115 year old boa constrictor) and the 55m-long Shwethalyaung Buddha. They are seeming to like gold a lot here. March is Summer season with highest temperatures. Day, it is 35 degrees. Night, 29 degrees. I am wondering if vehicle in special crate is modified to adapt to such extreme climate. I have heard of an all-weather vehicle made specially in the Americas. Must be what is in secret cargo!! I could be wrong, but I am sure I am only one who suspects right! |
